Interior Prep Checklist

Please read through the checklist and confirm at the bottom when you are done.

• Colors: Because the tastes of our customers vary widely, Larson Bros Painting does not accept responsibility for satisfaction with color choices under any circumstances. We recommend choosing from color books or picking commonly used colors. Choosing a custom color may result in dissatisfaction, so please be careful when choosing colors that are not on the paint store recommended color books.
• Sheens: If you do not have specific preferences for the sheens, Larson Bros Painting recommends the following: Flat or eggshell on walls, flat on ceilings, semi-gloss on trim and doors, and eggshell on cabinets. Flat paint touches up nicely down the road and doesn’t reflect light like the higher sheens, but has less protection against stains and marks. Eggshell paint holds up a little better against stains and marks but does not touch up well and reflects light. Semi Gloss is highly reflective but provides the most protection against stains and marks and is only recommended for trim and doors.
• Access: Please unlock gates, doors, etc and turn off alarms during the painting work.
• Furniture: For safety and production reasons, we need at least 3’ of space between walls and furniture throughout all bedrooms and living rooms being painted. This room is needed for us to properly access all spaces being painted and to safely place our ladders and equipment. Please move furniture to the center of the room and in cases where less than 3’ exist between the wall and furniture, please move items out of the room to make space. For rooms that have less than 3’ of space between the wall and furniture, an additional charge will be added for the cost of working in a confined space.
• Items on Shelves: Please remove all items from open shelves of furniture in areas being painted.
• Wall Hangings: Please remove all wall hangings from all rooms being painted. Walls need to be 100% free of decorations and items that will not be painted. Hardware and other items left on wall will be masked and painted around.
• Fragile Items: For interior projects: please remove fragile and expensive items such as lamps, furniture or wall decorations, artwork, and expensive window coverings (blinds, curtains, etc) from the jobsite before our crew arrives. Larson Bros Painting does not accept responsibility for damage to these items. Also, while Larson Bros Painting may move some furniture for our customers, we will not move pianos or other fragile furniture.
• Electronics: Please unplug and organize electronic devices prior to LBP arrival to ensure proper reinstallation. We will need to unplug electrical devices when we begin work, but we do not re-install electronics nor do we accept responsibility for costs resulting from electronics re-installation.
• Appliances: Regarding heavy appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, etc.: It is very likely that these appliances will scratch or damage your floor or other surfaces when moved. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable if these items are moved and impossible to know which appliances will damage floors. It is our policy not to move them during painting and to only paint behind as far as we can reach. If you prefer that these appliances are moved so we can paint behind them, you may sign a release of liability for us to move these appliances but we will not cover the cost of any damages resulting from moving them.
• Pets: Please keep pets away from the job site. Larson Bros Painting does not accept responsibility for lost animals and additional charges are required for damage or messes caused by animals. Furthermore, Larson Bros Painting will not be responsible for costs related to housing animals away from the jobsite.
